The Taiwan International Queer Film Festival Taipei
Taipei - TaiwanTaiwan International Queer Film Festival (TIQFF), established in 2014, is organized by Taiwan International Media and Education Association (TIMEA). Since the 1980s, Taiwan has witnessed waves of democratic movements in both the political and cultural arenas. The fight for gay rights took root in the 90s and has steadily grown. Since 2000, events such as the Gay Pride Parade have taken place, starting in Taipei, then gradually spreading to many other cities. All this is possible only through the grassroots efforts of many people who together have created a multi-faceted LGBT culture in Taiwan, garnering the title of the most gay-friendly country in Asia. In particular, after the long-term social movement from all walks of life in Taiwan and the countless political debates in parliament and in public space, our parliament just legalized same-sex marriage on 17 May 2019 and Taiwan is the first Asian country that legalizes same-sex marriage. However, despite these localized successes, Taiwan still lacks a central voice, one that gathers the strengths of the diverse LGBT groups to establish a friendly bond with the government, its people, and the rest of the world. With the belief that the power of films and media can help to create this bond, Taiwan International Queer Film Festival aims to establish ourselves as the premier LGBT film festival in all of Asia. It is important not only to present to the Taiwanese people LGBT films from around the globe, but also to showcase the best Taiwanese queer cinema on the international stage. This will be the start toward a better understanding of the visions of the world.

Vancouver Queer Film Festival
Vancouver - CanadaThe Vancouver Queer Film Festival is one of the largest queer arts events in Western Canada, located on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We illuminate, celebrate, and advance queer lives through film, education, and dialogue. Each year, we showcase eleven days of outstanding cinema, live performances, community-building events and parties, all with a background of beautiful mountain and ocean views. We believe artists should be paid fairly for their work. As such, all selected films are offered a competitive screening fee. We seek content in all genres, authored by 2SLGBTQIA+ creators and centred on 2SLGBTQIA+ protagonists. We love stories that overturn stereotypes, push boundaries, and celebrate Two Spirit, queer, and trans people, communities and artists. We uplift 2SLGBTQIA+ voices and stories across BC, Canada, and the world.

Zinegoak, the International Film and Performing Arts Festival LGTBIQ+
Bilbao - SpainZinegoak, the International Film and Performing Arts Festival LGTBIQ+ in Bilbao, was created in 2004 as a tool for raising awareness through culture, cinema and performing arts. It is an annual event that is usually held in June in the city of Bilbao. Its programming ranges from the fictional feature films of the main international competitions to the most avant-garde cinema, in which genres, languages and aesthetics are mixed. All these proposals are linked to non-discrimination due to affective-sexual or identity issues and the struggle for the visibility and legitimization of different LGTBIQ+ experiences. Zinegoak awards in each edition an Honorary Prize designed to recognize the work or trajectory of people related to Queer film or culture. The festival has an International Jury, a specific program of thought, debate and context generation, and an own industry area, ZG PRO.
